Sarah Brightman

Sarah Brightman has come out with another album. She is dubbed "the biggest selling soprano of all time". It's not hard to understand why this is the case. Her voice has a pure and very unique characteristic that, for me, sets her apart from any other female vocalist.I remember when I first saw her on PBS. It was a cold night, probably just after Christmas. I was spending much of my time up very late. I saw her live performance of Eden, release in 1999. She had the most amazing voice I had ever heard. Though she was definitely classically trained, her voice was still approachable, even though I usually had a distaste for opera type singers.
I immediately drove for a half hour to a 24 hour department store, in order to buy the album that night. It is still one of my favorite albums. Even though her music is much different than most other stuff that I listen to, and I'm not particularly fond of more of the "pop" style tracks, some of the tracks on that album are hauntingly beautiful. There are points where I felt like I was walking through a shadow, into a foggy mist, listening to her sing while the world moved in slow motion around me. My entire body tingling with electric sparks.
