Dripping Cave of Trees

Yesterday morning I went to Whipp's Ledges with my sister. Needing more time away from my recent confusion, this was a much needed wandering. It was a very dark morning. The rain had fallen throughout the night. When we arrived, I noticed I was surrounded by flowering jewelweed in colors of yellow and orange. Leaves everywhere were covered in small droplets of cool rain leftover from the night and early morning. The canopy was talking all around with quiet tapping whispers. The rain would return on occasion in a light mist. When I am in this mode, the rain seems to center my thoughts even more. It drips around the beautiful contour of all objects and my face. My eyes are misted and temporarily clouded, reminding me that I am just an observer of a tireless spinning top. I just have to keep breathing.
